All is not well at the world level between NATO members and America. Because of this, a fight has come to the fore between NATO member countries and America. Now there is tension between America and France on this issue. Issuing a statement on Tuesday, the French Foreign Minister has bluntly said that the US diplomat posted in France will have to give an explanation for disobeying the summons sent by France. Now after this this rift has come out openly.
France has clearly said that unless US Ambassador Charles Kushner agrees to our request, he will not be allowed to meet French officials. French officials also called him for a meeting, in which he did not attend for the second time.
What is the matter?
According to news agency AP, France summoned Kushner due to the controversy when he alleged in a letter to French President Emmanuel Macron in August last year that the country did nothing to fight antisemitism.
Who is Charles Kushner?
Kushner is a relative of US President Donald Trump. He is the father of the President’s son-in-law and advisor Jared Kushner. French authorities have summoned him in a case related to those statements, on which objection has been lodged by France. But Kushner’s absence in this meeting has further increased the tension. French diplomats have informed that Kushner was not present in the meeting. He had not been present even once before.
French Foreign Minister expressed surprise at his absence
French officials have expressed surprise at his absence. Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrow on Tuesday called it a surprising step. Apart from this, he has said that this action will affect his working capacity. For this reason, France has said that when he gives clarification on the entire matter, he will be allowed to meet the French officials again.
