US Iran Talks: A delegation led by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reached Geneva, Switzerland on Wednesday (25 February 2026). Important talks are to be held here with America. Meanwhile, the President of the Islamic Republic has shown a positive attitude on the possibility of an agreement to avoid new conflict.
US President Donald Trump has warned several times that if Iran does not compromise on its nuclear program, it could be attacked. In his State of the Union address on Tuesday 24 February, he accused Tehran of having serious nuclear ambitions. This statement came at a time when he ordered large-scale military deployment around the Gulf region.
New restrictions announced
Increasing the pressure, America on Wednesday announced new sanctions on Iran. Meanwhile, US Vice President JD Vance warned Tehran to take Washington’s threat of military action seriously.
Masood Pejeshkian said this
However, Iranian President Masoud Pejeshkian said that he has positive expectations about the talks. In one of his speeches he said that we have good confidence about the results of the talks. He said that we are taking this process forward under the guidance of the Supreme Leader so that we can come out of the situation of neither war nor peace.
Strict message amid policy of maximum pressure
Western countries believe that Iran is trying to make a nuclear bomb, but Tehran continues to say that its nuclear program is completely peaceful. President Donald Trump said that my priority is to solve this problem through diplomacy, but one thing is clear that I will not allow the world’s biggest terrorist supporting country to acquire nuclear weapons.
Vice President JD Vance said President Trump has many other options to ensure that Iran cannot develop nuclear weapons. He told Fox News that the President has shown a willingness to take action before and he hopes Iran will take it seriously during the talks.
