Borge Brende, President and CEO of the World Economic Forum, resigned from his post on Thursday. This decision has been taken after his name was mentioned in the files related to American criminal Jeffrey Epstein in the sexual abuse case. There has been a stir in many countries of the world ever since his name surfaced in the Epstein file. In 2017, Brende became the CEO of WEF. He is accused of having three business dinners with Epstein. Apart from this, conversations were also held with Epstein through email and text.
What did Brende say when she resigned?
Regarding her decision to resign, Brende said that after much consideration, I have decided to leave the post of President and CEO of the World Economic Forum. My eight years here were very good. Brende, who was the former Foreign Minister of Norway, said that I am grateful for the excellent support from my colleagues, partners and other people. I believe it is time for the Forum to continue its work without any interruption.

However, Brende did not mention Epstein in her statement. WEF coach chairs Andre Hoffman and Larry Fink said that the independent review conducted by lawyers into Brand’s relationship with Epstein has been completed. Alois Zwinggi will serve as interim president and CEO in Brande’s place. WEF organizes the Davos Summit annually. Political and business leaders from all over the world come together in this summit.
