Amidst the ongoing tension between America and Iran, a meeting was held between the two countries for nuclear talks on Thursday (26 February). Tehran is under pressure to agree to the deal or face US military attacks. In Geneva, America has put 5 big conditions before Iran. Which includes destroying all three of Iran’s nuclear plants (Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan). Apart from this, the US has set a condition for Iran to hand over all its enriched uranium to America.

Third round meeting in Geneva

Due to the mediation of Oman, the third round of talks between Iran and the US is going on in Geneva. US President Donald Trump has given an ultimatum to Iran that if no agreement is reached between the two countries on a nuclear deal, then Iran will have to face serious consequences. At the same time, Iran does not seem to be ready to accept many of America’s conditions.

Uranium enrichment is a major issue between America and Iran. The US has set a condition that Iran will have to stop uranium enrichment. However, till now Iran seems to be denying this. On February 8, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi denied giving up uranium enrichment and said he was not afraid of threats of war with the US.
