CM Revanth Reddy himself reached Nampally court; Attendance given in old case of grand rally of 2019 and 2021 Covid violation

This appearance was for the hearing of two old cases of breaking the election code of conduct during the 2019 Huzurnagar by-election and violating Covid rules in 2021. Police had registered both the cases on the complaint of Election Commission officials and now the Chief Minister had to appear in the court in connection with their investigation.

Chief Minister entered the court under tight cordon

According to the ground report, the Chief Minister went inside calmly amidst tight security cordon. He appeared before the judge and attended the hearing of the case. Talking about 2019, during the Huzurnagar by-election, Revanth Reddy and Uttam Kumar Reddy, who was the MP at that time, were accused of taking out a convoy of 40 cars and a rally with DJ sound in support of a candidate. According to the rules of the Election Commission, such rallies were a clear violation of the model code. The police had registered a case on this complaint.

The second case is of the year 2021

The second case is of 2021. At that time, strict rules of Covid-19 were in force in the entire country. It is alleged that Revanth Reddy participated in a public meeting without taking care of mask and social distancing. At that time he was the President of the State Congress. Both the cases are many years old and have their roots in the politics of the time when the BRS government was in power.

At the hearing, the judge noted further investigation into the cases. On behalf of the Chief Minister, these cases have been described as old and politically motivated. The court has fixed the next date. This incident has sparked discussion in political circles about how even after coming to power, old legal matters do not leave us.
