Hundreds of flights canceled due to Iran-Israel war, passengers worried, airspace still closed

There is currently an atmosphere of severe tension in the Middle East. The echo of bombing is being heard everywhere. There is an outcry from Iran to Israel and from Qatar to Abu Dhabi. Iran, Israel, Iraq, United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Syria have closed their airspace, due to which air travel has been severely affected. Airlines companies say that the safety of passengers and crew is their first priority. Air India has banned all flights going to the Middle East.

Many airline companies have suspended services for a week. Companies are continuously monitoring the situation and have said that they will make further changes if necessary. Flight tracking platform Flightradar 24 said that many airlines have been affected simultaneously, which clearly shows that the tension has had a major impact on global airlines.

Ban on flights to Israel, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Amman
Emirates said that due to the closure of airspace, their services from Dubai Airport have been temporarily affected and they are monitoring the situation. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has suspended its flights to the Middle East. Iberia Express canceled its Tel Aviv flight on Saturday evening. Due to closure of Doha’s airspace, a flight to Madrid had to return midway. KLM has suspended the Amsterdam-Tel Aviv service. Wizz Air has stopped all flights to Israel, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Amman till 7 March.

What did Air India tell?
Air India has posted on Twitter that all flights going to the Middle East have been suspended. He said in the post that we are committed to maintaining the safety of our passengers and crew. We will continuously assess the security situation for our flight operations and make operational changes as needed. Air India Express has suspended westbound international flights till 11.59 pm on March 1, 2026.

Passengers can take refund
Passengers booking till 28th February can cancel their journey till 5th March 2026 without any change in fare or taking full refund. IndiGo has issued an advisory regarding Iran and surrounding airspace and has asked passengers to check flight status. Lufthansa has canceled flights to Dubai, Beirut and Oman. Turkish Airlines has canceled flights to Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Iran and Jordan until March 2.

Tel Aviv flights suspended till March 7
Qatar Airways has temporarily suspended flights after the closure of Qatar’s airspace. Japan Airlines has canceled Tokyo Haneda-Doha service and the return flight on March 1. Swiss International Airlines has suspended flights to Tel Aviv till March 7 and has also canceled Zurich-Dubai service. SpiceJet has expressed fear of disruption in some flights due to closure of Dubai airspace.
