Actor Rajpal Yadav is in the news these days regarding an old legal matter. This matter is related to his first film as a producer ‘Ata Pata Lapata’. Recently, while talking openly to the media, he said that he will share some parts of this film on social media, so that people can see for themselves where and how the money was spent on the film. Rajpal says that the allegations of fraud against him are wrong and he wants to clarify his point.
Agreement was reached in 2010
Actually, in the year 2012, he had taken an investment of Rs 5 crore from businessman Madhav Gopal Aggarwal for this film. This was not a loan, but an investment. It started in 2005, when his friend Mithilesh Kumar wanted to make a film. Later in 2010, the film was shown to Madhav Gopal, by then about 70 percent of the shooting was completed. The same evening the investment proposal came. An agreement was reached in July 2010, in which it was decided that after the release of the film, Rs 8 crore would be returned instead of Rs 5 crore. But Rajpal alleges that a stay order was taken from the High Court just before its release, which had a negative impact on the release of the film. The theater owners backed out a day before the film’s release.
The film was released within 24 hours
Rajpal said that where earlier it was expected to get more than 1000 screens, the film was released on barely 200 screens and was released within 24 hours. A total of Rs 20 to 22 crores were spent on the film, which included his own capital and loans. He even mortgaged his property and took a loan from the bank. If the film was allowed to be released properly, the loss would not have been so big. Till date, even the satellite or OTT rights of the film have not been sold. Therefore, now he wants to show people by posting some of its clips on social media that there were real actors in the film, long shooting was done and the hard work was genuine.

Rajpal had also recently gone to Tihar Jail regarding this matter. He believes that this entire controversy grew due to misunderstanding. He was ready for a compromise, but the matter reached the court. The film industry has always supported him like family and in a career spanning more than 25 years, he has made his mark with hard work. He wants to continue working in future also. He has also recently started his YouTube channel and is preparing for a new beginning on the digital platform.
