In view of the increasing tension in the Middle East, the Indian Embassy in Doha has issued important information for the Indians living there. In view of the current situation in Qatar, he has asked people to be cautious. The Embassy has said that normal consular services will remain closed on March 2, 2026. That means there will be no passport, visa or other routine work on that day, but emergency services will continue. If needed, help will be provided in important matters related to passport, visa, attestation and labour.

The Embassy has advised Indian citizens to pay attention to every new information coming from the Embassy and the local administration. Do not leave the house without essential work. Stay away from military bases and sensitive areas. Try to stay at home or at a safe place. Go out only if it is absolutely necessary. Follow every warning from local officials. The embassy has also said that the safety of the people comes first. The situation is being continuously monitored.

24 hour helpline number issued

The Indian Embassy in Doha has issued a facility for Indian citizens to contact 24-hour helpline number +00974-55647502 in case of emergency. Apart from this, you can send email to cons.doha@mea.gov.in. Meanwhile, an appeal has been made to the Indian community to maintain peace and vigilance.

Indian population in Qatar

The population of Indians in Qatar is very large. It is estimated that about 8.3 lakh (about 8,36,784) Indians live there. This is the largest expatriate community living in Qatar. Indians constitute about 21% to 25% of the total population. Indians are engaged in different works in Qatar. Many Indians are working there as doctors, nurses, engineers, IT experts, chartered accountants and teachers. Apart from this, a large number of people also work in construction, service and other private sectors.
