‘Should be out of the team for at least two years’, Shahid Afridi gave statement regarding which Pakistani player

Pakistan cricket team had a very disappointing performance in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. After once again performing poorly in the ICC tournament, all the players of the Pakistani team have been fined. Pakistan has not been able to reach the semi-finals of the world level tournament for the fourth consecutive time. After Pakistan’s exit from the Super-8 of this year’s T20 World Cup, many media reports claimed that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken strict action against the players and fined all the players of the Pakistani team for the T20 World Cup.

PCB imposed a fine of Rs 50 lakh on players
PCB has imposed a fine of Rs 50 lakh on all the players of the Pakistani team. This fine has been imposed by the PCB not for indiscipline, but for poor performance in the T20 World Cup 2026. According to media reports, this fine was imposed after India lost by a huge margin of 61 runs in the group stage match. There was a condition by the PCB that if the Pakistani team reaches the semi-finals, then this fine will be waived.

Shaheed Afridi gave statement on fine imposed on players
Pakistan’s legendary all-rounder and former captain Shahid Afridi, while talking to Sama TV, said that he is surprised by the media reports. Not because the players have been fined, but because they have received very light punishment. He said, ‘This decision is incomprehensible. This is very small thinking. This is a very small amount. What will happen in 50 lakhs? This doesn’t even seem like a fine.

Exclude some players from Pakistani team for two years
Shahid Afridi demanded more strict action and said, ‘Send the players who have not performed to first class cricket. There are some players who should not be in the Pakistani team for at least two years. Just Enough.’ Although all the players have been fined, one player Shahidzada Farhan performed brilliantly for Pakistan in this tournament. He scored two centuries in seven matches, breaking the record of scoring most runs in the T20 World Cup.
