Sooraj Barjatya is a popular filmmaker in the industry. He has given many hit films. His films like Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Vivaah, Hum Saath Saath Hain were hits. The focus of his films is on family values and love. Also, in his films, women were shown as homemakers only. But now Suraj believes that times have changed and now women cannot be shown sitting at home in the story.
Suraj talked about the story of films
While talking to Hindustan Times, Sooraj said, ‘If we talk about stories, even today if I think that ladies will sit at home, then it is over. Now you can’t make Hum Aapke Hain Koun, where everyone lives in one house. Because in today’s time this is not possible. But the values are the same.
He further said, ‘Today there are more women than men on my set. This is a big change. When I started, the only women on the set were actresses, their mothers and hairdressers. Now the energy is different. Now the scenes are different. Earlier we did not pay attention to costumer and production design. No one can show as many kitchens and temples as I have shown in films. This is where women come with new ideas.
Let us tell you that Suraj has now brought a new show Marble. Amrita’s journey has been shown in this show. Talking about Marble, Sooraj said, ‘Sangmarmar is the story of a family which we all know about. This is a story of showing relationships for what they are: love, misunderstandings, waiting, and trying to be together. The focus of this show is patience. The show shows how time challenges and heals your relationship.
