WhatsApp Plus: There was talk of a new subscription plan coming on WhatsApp for quite some time. According to reports, this plan can be rolled out soon. It will be named WhatsApp Plus and along with app customization, users will also be given new chat management tools. It is being developed for both Android and iOS and can be rolled out in the next few days. There will be no change in the core functionality of the app
It is being speculated that the subscription plan will provide extra features to the users, but the core functionality of the app like messaging, audio-video calls and media sharing etc. will remain free as before. Its features, price and launch timeline have not been announced yet by the company, but it is expected that subscribers can get personalization and features that make the app experience more convenient.
Expect these extra features
It is expected that users taking subscription plans may get the option to pin extra chats. Currently WhatsApp gives the option to pin 3 chats, but paid users will be able to pin 20 chats. Apart from this, paid users can get the facility of changing the color of 14 different app icons, tabs, color buttons and filters, exclusive stickers, custom ringtones and interactive message reactions etc. Once rolled out, new features can also be added based on user feedback.
WhatsApp is testing notification waitlist
WhatsApp is currently working on this feature and has started testing the notification waitlist. Users who join this waitlist will be notified when the premium plan becomes available.
