What did Prime Minister Narendra Modi say in praise of Om Birla?
Prime Minister Modi said that Om Birla is an excellent Lok Sabha speaker. He is completely dedicated to the Constitution. Deeply respect the parliamentary system. Today he has risen above the party line and stands above the government and the opposition. When I see him in the House, I often think that perhaps this is the effect of his education coming from the city. He manages the House like a capable leader. Let’s take everyone along.
PM Modi said that he handles all our MPs very well in the House. Respect their requests and feelings. He is a speaker who respects the MPs a lot. Even if some arrogant, spoiled students from high families come and refuse to give up their angry habits, he still manages everyone as the head of the house. He doesn’t insult anyone. He also tolerates it. The PM said that it is good to listen to everyone’s tough words. Perhaps that is why he is liked so much in the House.
Opposition brought no confidence motion against the speaker
This reaction of PM Modi has come after the no-confidence motion brought against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. 118 MPs signed it. The second phase of the budget session will start from March 9. Three Congress MPs are going to bring a resolution demanding the removal of Speaker Birla. He is accused of stopping Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders from speaking in the House. Among them, Congress’s Mohammed Javed, Kodikunnil Suresh and Mallu Ravi have accused the Speaker of supporting his party and making unnecessary allegations against the women of the opposition.
Birla has suspended the opposition MPs for the entire parliamentary term for raising public issues, but the ruling party members were not reprimanded for insulting the former PM. In this entire matter, BJP and Opposition Congress have issued a three-line whip to their Lok Sabha MPs. In this, presence in the House is expected from 9 to 11 March.
