Amidst the war between US-Israel and Iran, North Korea has claimed successful testing of cruise missiles. This information has been given by the government media of North Korea. In which it was told that the Korean People’s Army Navy has successfully tested sea-to-surface strategic cruise missiles from its newly built 5000 ton destroyer ship Choe Hyon.
Let us tell you that Choe Hyon is the lead ship of a new category of multi-role destroyer ships. It was launched in April 2025 at the Nampo Shipyard on the west coast of North Korea. This is the largest warship of the fleet. It has been designed for nuclear weapons along with cruise and ballistic missiles. Kim Jong has insisted on building at least two such ships every year to strengthen naval power.
There was no response from America and North Korea
Government media described it as a display of ‘powerful offensive capability’ in a war situation and the missiles were named ‘strategic’, indicating possible nuclear weapons. This test follows a similar test on March 4 amid rising tensions with the US and South Korea. There has been no immediate reaction from America, South Korea or the United Nations on this action of North Korea.

Launched with ‘Choe Hyeon’
These cruise missiles were launched from the Naval Destroyer ‘Choe Hyon’. It is being told that this was the second such test in the last week. Where several missiles were fired, which were seen flying at low altitude over the sea for about three hours and then fell on the island target. In the video, it is seen that the destroyer is firing missiles at the ship, due to which a cloud of smoke is visible above the water.
