Meta Scam Detection Tools: Meta, the company that runs platforms like Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp, has deleted more than one crore accounts. The company said that last year it has removed 159 million scam advertisements and about 11 million scam-related accounts from its platforms. The company has taken this step to prevent online fraud. Along with giving information about deleting accounts, Meta also said that it is going to bring such tools on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, which will inform the users about scams and other suspicious activities in advance. For this the company will use Artificial Intelligence. The new AI system will analyze different signals simultaneously and alert the user of possible scams. The new AI system has been specially designed to detect scams and fake websites using the name of another brand, celebrity or well-known people. These tools will help protect users from scams on WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Messenger.
This tool will come for WhatsApp account protection
Meta said that it will also bring a new tool for WhatsApp account protection. It is being introduced to target those scams in which cyber attackers try to get users to link their messaging accounts to other devices. After this tool becomes available, a warning will appear while linking the device in the app, in which the location of the device will be told. Additionally, users will also be reminded that by linking to the wrong device, someone else can view their entire message history.
