Indian openers Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson were seen together on a stage after the T20 World Cup, where Sanju took a dig at Abhishek’s popularity and advised him to get married soon. Sanju’s bat was brilliant in the final of the T20 World Cup and in the important matches before that, Abhishek was seen struggling throughout the tournament but he scored a brilliant half-century in the final.
Taking a dig at the popularity of Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson humorously told how other players were jealous. Sanju said in the India Today Conclave that in the beginning the boys used to get a little jealous as slogans of only Abhishek and Abhishek were echoed everywhere. Sanju gave marriage advice to Abhishek
Sanju Samson pulled Abhishek Sharma’s leg and advised him for marriage. He said that Abhishek should get married so that other players also get some limelight.
Abhishek gave the credit of his success to former cricketer Yuvraj Singh, from whom he constantly takes tips. He told that for the last two years he has been following the process told by Yuvraj. T20’s number-1 batsman Abhishek aims to play in all three formats for Team India. Abhishek told that ‘Yuvraj Singh has taught that do not worry about those things which are not in your hands. My job is just to make the team win with my performance.
Sanju Samson, who played a brilliant inning of 89 runs in the T20 World Cup 2026 final, was adjudged the best player of the tournament, scoring 321 runs in 5 innings. Whereas number-1 batsman in T20 ranking, Abhishek Sharma’s performance in the tournament was not special, but he returned to form in the final. He gave a fast start by scoring 52 runs in 21 balls.
