Israel-US Iran War: This country gave a shock to America amid war with Iran, closed airspace for US Army

Amidst the Iran war, Switzerland has taken a big decision and limited the use of its airspace for American military aircraft. The Swiss government has said that its old policy is to remain neutral, so American aircraft related to the war will not be allowed to pass through its airspace. In a statement issued on Saturday (14 March 2026), the government said that two American reconnaissance aircraft were not allowed to pass through the airspace of Switzerland on 15 March. According to officials, these flights were directly related to the ongoing war with Iran, hence they were not approved.

However, the Swiss government gave permission to 3 other American flights. These include two transport aircraft on March 15 and one maintenance flight on March 17. This decision was taken by the Swiss Federal Council after reviewing several requests. These requests came to the Federal Office of Civil Aviation, which handles matters related to such diplomatic permission. Switzerland has made it clear that flights related to humanitarian or medical aid will continue to be allowed. For example, flights carrying injured people or aircraft involved in relief work can use Swiss airspace.

War between America and Iran

This decision of Switzerland has come at a time when the war between America and Iran has reached its third week. This war started on February 28, when America and Israel attacked Iran. According to the report, more than 2000 people have died so far in this war, most of whom are from Iran. This conflict has also affected the world’s oil supply. Meanwhile, Donald Trump has appealed to the countries taking oil from the Gulf region to send their navies to protect the ships. Iran had warned of retaliation after the US attack on Kharg Island and tension has increased around the Strait of Hormuz.
