A hearing was held in the Civil Judge Junior Division of Varanasi Court regarding the operation of RSS Bhawan in Kashi Hindu University campus. Now the next hearing in this case will be held on January 28. In fact, on July 1, 2023, a suit was filed in the Varanasi Court on behalf of Prameel Pandey in which he says that the RSS building used to operate in the BHU campus, but during the Emergency in 1975-76, the RSS building located in the campus was demolished, apart from this, activities related to the Sangh were also banned.

Prameel Pandey, who filed the suit regarding running of RSS building in BHU campus, said that even before the independence of the country, land was given to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh by Pujya Mahamana in Kashi Hindu University. Sangh activities and events were conducted there. Apart from this, RSS Bhavan was also constructed there, but during the Emergency period of 1976, it was demolished and its activities were also banned. Therefore, our demand is that now we should be given permission to operate again on the land which is already approved.
Next hearing on 28 January
Girish Chandra Upadhyay, who is representing the plaintiff in this case in the Civil Judge Junior Division Court of Varanasi, said that now the next hearing in this case will be held on January 28. BHU administration will present its side.
The Sangh building was built on the initiative of Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya.
According to the suit filed by Prameel Pandey, the RSS branch was started in the campus of BHU in 1931. On the initiative of Mahamana Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya, a two-room Sangh Bhawan was also built between 1937 and 28. This building was built by the then Vice Chancellor Raja Jwala Prasad. Presently this building is known as Sangh Stadium. It was demolished overnight on 22 February 1976 during the tenure of the then Vice Chancellor Kalulal Shrimali. The matter is now going on in the court.
