BJP has released the first list of 144 candidates for West Bengal elections. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has given tickets to Subhendu Adhikari and Dilip Ghosh. BJP has fielded Shubhendu Adhikari from two seats – Nandigram and Bhawanipur seat. CM Mamata Banerjee had won the elections from Bhawanipur last time.
In the 2021 assembly elections, Subhendu Adhikari defeated CM Mamata Banerjee by about 2000 votes from Nandigram seat. After counting of 17 rounds, Shubhendu Adhikari’s victory was declared. Then Mamata Banerjee had accused BJP of rigging during the elections. After that defeat, Mamata Banerjee contested the by-election from Bhawanipur seat and won. Now, to corner Mamata Banerjee, the same BJP has once again fielded Shubhendu Adhikari from her own seat.
