Who has hit the longest six in IPL? The record of 125 meters still remains intact, a look at the records of every season

The rain of fours and sixes in IPL is the real identity of this league. Every year new players come and new records are made, but there are some records which are not broken for years. One such record is that of the longest six in IPL history.

125 meter ‘Monster Six’

The record of hitting the longest six in the history of IPL is in the name of Albie Morkel. He hit a 125 meter long six in the very first season played in 2008. This was not just a shot, but a feat which set a new definition of batting power. The surprising thing is that even big hitters like Chris Gayle, MS Dhoni and AB de Villiers have not been able to break this record.

Who hit the longest six in every season?

In every season of IPL, there was definitely one player who made headlines by hitting the longest hit.
In 2009, Adam Gilchrist hit a six of 122 meters. In 2010, Robin Uthappa hit 120 meters. Again in 2011, Gilchrist hit a six of 122 meters. In 2012, MS Dhoni hit a six of 112 meters, while in 2013, Chris Gayle hit a long six of 119 meters. In 2014, David Miller hit a six of 102 meters. In 2015 and 2018, AB de Villiers was impressive, who hit sixes of 111 meters. In 2016, Ben Cutting hit a six of 117 meters, in 2017, Travis Head hit a six of 109 meters. Again in 2019, Dhoni hit a six of 111 meters. Nicholas Pooran achieved this feat in 2020 and Kieron Pollard in 2021.

The trend of long sixes has continued in recent years also. In 2022, Liam Livingstone hit a six of 117 meters, in 2023, Faf du Plessis hit a six of 115 meters and in 2024, Heinrich Klaasen hit a six of 108 meters.
