India’s Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas on Saturday (April 11, 2026) said Jag Vikram, an Indian-flagged LPG vessel, has safely transited the Strait of Hormuz today. This vessel is loaded with about 20,400 metric tons of LPG and has 24 sailors on board. It is expected that this ship will reach Mumbai on April 15, 2026.
Petroleum Ministry gave information
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas said that the delivery of domestic LPG cylinders remains normal. Yesterday Friday (April 10, 2026), more than 51.5 lakh cylinders were distributed. So far, more than 26,000 PNG consumers have surrendered their LPG connections through MYPNGD.in. PSU OMCs conducted around 2,900 awareness camps for 5 kg FTL cylinders in the last eight days.

The ministry said Indian-flagged LPG vessel Jag Vikram, which was carrying about 20,400 metric tonnes of LPG, has safely transited the Strait of Hormuz. More than 2,009 Indian sailors have been brought back safely from the Gulf region so far. At the same time, 81 sailors returned to India in the last 24 hours. Indian Missions and Posts are providing round-the-clock helplines and active assistance to Indian citizens.
Ministry’s appeal to common people
The Petroleum Ministry has advised citizens to avoid panic buying of petrol, diesel and LPG and trust only official sources. LPG consumers have been requested to use the digital booking platform and avoid visiting the distributor. Additionally, citizens have been encouraged to use alternative fuels such as PNG, electricity or induction cooktops.
