- Questions raised on India’s surrender to China.
As part of the initiative to establish peace in the ongoing war between America, Israel and Iran in the Middle East, peace talks are to be held in the capital Islamabad hosted by Pakistan on Saturday (April 11, 2026). Regarding this talk to be held in Islamabad, the Congress Party has raised questions on the foreign policy of the Government of India and condemned the arrogance of the Prime Minister. Along with this, Congress has alleged that the Indian government has failed to stop Washington from handing over an important role to Islamabad in the mediation between US and Iran.
Congress’s sarcasm on the policy of the Government of India
Congress MP Jairam Ramesh shared a post on social media platform X on Saturday (April 11, 2026) and wrote, ‘The meeting between America and Iran is starting in Islamabad today. The whole world, including India, hopes that this will be the beginning of a lasting peace process between the two countries, which will not be derailed by Israel’s ongoing aggression in its neighbourhood.
During this, he raised questions on the foreign policy approach of the Indian government and also condemned the arrogance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He wrote, ‘But this also raises serious questions on the style of arrogance of the person who has declared himself a world leader.’
Which four important questions did Congress ask??
During this, senior Congress Party leader Jairam Ramesh also raised four important questions from the Government of India.
- First question: Congress asked how Pakistan has created a new role for itself despite its role in the Pahalgam terror attack in April 2025 and political efforts made by India to isolate Pakistan after the attacks. This failure is particularly condemnable because Dr. Manmohan Singh’s government had effectively isolated Pakistan after the November 2008 terrorist attacks.
- Second question: How did India allow the US to hand over this new role to Pakistan, while Modi and his supporters raised slogans like Namaste Trump, Howdy Modi and once again Trump government? India also agreed to an apparently one-sided trade deal, giving much more than it expected, yet the Modi government failed to strike a deal with the US.
- Third question: Why has India, as the current Chair of BRICS+, not initiated any peace or mediation initiative, especially when Iran, UAE and Saudi Arabia are members of BRICS+?
- Fourth question: Congress raised the question what benefit has been gained from India’s planned surrender to China in the last 18 months. Especially in view of China’s significant role in Pakistan’s response to Operation Sindoor and its continued support?
