Owaisi said that lynching of Dipu Chandra Das is contrary to the constitutional mandate of Bangladesh. It gives freedom of religion under Article 41. He has condemned this incident. Speaking to news agency PTI, Owaisi said, what happened to Dipu Chandra Das is completely against the constitutional mandate. This is very unfortunate. This is a sad incident. Our party condemns any kind of lynching.

‘Bangladesh was built on the foundation of secularism’

Owaisi said, Bangladesh was built on the foundation of secular Bengali nationalism. A large non-Muslim population lives here. Speaks Bengali language. If you look at the Constitution, there Article 41 guarantees freedom of religion. Articles 27 and 28 ensure equality before law. Article 12 maintains secularism.

Earlier he had said that India supports the steps taken by the government to keep relations with Bangladesh strong. Stability in Bangladesh is important for India’s security, especially in the North-Eastern region. He had said, ‘A popular revolution has taken place in Bangladesh. We hope that when elections are held in February, relations between India and Bangladesh will be better.
