A pilot of Air India Express has been arrested by Delhi Police. An off-duty pilot of Air India Express has been arrested for attacking a passenger at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, an official said on Tuesday (December 30).
The name of the arrested pilot is Virendra Sejwal. Let us tell you that this incident took place on December 19 at Terminal-1 of Indira Gandhi International Airport, after which the victim passenger had lodged a complaint with the police.

According to PTI report, the victim Ankit Dewan was traveling with his 7-year-old daughter and a 4-month-old baby. He had an altercation with some people regarding the line outside the security checking area. It is alleged that during this time, pilot Virendra Sejwal attacked him after an argument. In the medical examination, a fracture in the nasal bone of Dewan was confirmed. He also told that the entire incident happened in front of his daughter, due to which he is mentally disturbed.
After receiving the complaint, Delhi Police registered an FIR in the matter and started investigation. Delhi Police collected CCTV footage and statements of witnesses present at the spot. After preliminary investigation, the accused pilot was called for questioning and after sufficient evidence was found, he was arrested.
What did Delhi Police tell?
Delhi Police says that further action is being taken as per the legal process and a charge sheet will be filed after the investigation is completed. This incident has raised many questions regarding the safety of passengers and conduct of aviation personnel at the airport.
DCP of IGI Airport said that after the case was registered, investigation was conducted and during the investigation relevant CCTV footage was collected. He told that the accused was called for questioning.
