The effect of dense fog and low visibility was clearly visible at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport) on Tuesday morning (30 December 2025). Due to weather and operational reasons, flight operations were affected, due to which passengers had to face a lot of trouble.
According to the airport’s live flight data, till 9:30 am a total of 193 flights were delayed, while 13 flights had to be cancelled. 71 flights coming to Delhi were delayed from the scheduled time, while 8 flights were cancelled. Apart from this, 122 flights departing from Delhi were delayed and 5 flights were cancelled.
Flights from these cities are most affected
Many major flights from Delhi airport to Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Patna, Srinagar, Jaipur, Pune and Hyderabad departed much behind schedule.
Passengers had to wait a long time
The passengers present at the airport had to wait for a long time. Many flights remained visible in Estimated status for a long time, due to which there was confusion and confusion among the passengers.
Airlines appeal to passengers
Airlines have appealed to the passengers to check the status of their flight before leaving the airport and keep an eye on the alerts issued by the airline. At present, the situation is said to be gradually normalizing, but passengers have been advised to take extra time to reach the airport so that any inconvenience can be avoided.
Visibility in Delhi
In view of the possibility of fog, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a yellow alert in Delhi till 9 am. Visibility in Safdarjung was 100 meters at 7:30 am, which increased to 200 meters by 8:30 am. At the same time, there was moderate fog in Palam and the visibility was recorded at around 300 meters at 8:30 am. The air quality index (AQI) on Tuesday morning was 388, which was slightly lower than Monday. On Monday, the AQI of the city was 401, which was in the serious category.
