Police seized a huge quantity of ganja in Moinabad on the outskirts of Rangareddy town, busting a huge network of inter-state drug smuggling. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the police took immediate action and arrested 2 accused. This action has been taken at a time when the police is emphasizing on intensifying the campaigns against drugs.
This entire incident happened in Aziznagar area under Moinabad police station. When the police team was engaged in routine vehicle checking, a suspicious car was seen on the highway. When the police stopped the car and started investigation, the people present there were shocked. 22 kg of ganja hidden inside the car was recovered. This consignment was being smuggled through Hyderabad-Bijapur Highway.
2 accused residents of Odisha arrested
According to the information received, the police took two people into custody on the spot. The arrested accused have been identified as Pavitra Sarkar and Amrito Parmanik. Both of them are residents of Odisha state and during interrogation it has come to light that they were involved in this business for a long time. They used to transport drugs from one state to another.
Car and 2 mobiles seized
During this action, the police also seized a car and two mobile phones being used in smuggling. These mobile phones can play an important role in exposing their network. Moinabad police has registered the case and started further investigation. The police is trying to find out to whom this goods was to be supplied and who are the people behind it. A police officer said that the accused are being strictly interrogated and soon other members of this gang will also be arrested.
