West Bengal News: A viral video has created a political storm in Barasat area of North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. Mohammad Giyasuddin Mandal, vice president of Barasat 1 Panchayat Samiti, was seen in this video. He was seen sitting with a businessman behind a mountain of money. The video is becoming increasingly viral on social media, due to which a round of allegations and counter-allegations has started between political parties.
What was seen in the viral video?
The mountain of money seen in the video had almost covered the face of the businessman, Rakibul Islam, sitting on the chair. Ghiyasuddin was sitting on his left. Rakibul was heard talking to someone on the phone. He was heard saying, “There are many models. Will you buy in cash or in finance?” After some time a person appeared carrying a nylon bag. That bag was also filled with money.

Controversy started as soon as the video surfaced. However, Ghiyasuddin told that the video is from 2022. One transaction was going on. He was just sitting next to me. He has no role in the transaction. Businessman Rakibul told that the money from the purchase and sale of land was being counted.
The local Trinamool leadership said that the matter is being investigated. If any fault is proved then action will be taken. However, this is not stopping the controversy. The local BJP leadership says, “This is the character of Trinamool leaders. This has become clear again with the release of the video.” Barasat No. 1 Block Trinamool convenor Mohammad Isha Sarkar said that if the authenticity of the video is proved, then action will be taken by the party if proven guilty. He also raised the question as to where such a huge amount came from.
Giyasuddin Mandal and Rakibul Islam’s clarification
Ghiyasuddin also opened his mouth on ABP Anand. He said, “I am sitting next to me. This is an old video from 2022. My friends had bought land, the transaction was going on. That’s all I know.” Rakibul said, “The video is two years old. As far as I remember, there was money from the land transaction. There was investment in the land. That was the money. Ghiyasuddin was the partner in the land. That office is not even mine. There is a place in Kazipada. I was in partnership. Whatever transaction happened, it happened in the presence of everyone.”
A vigorous discussion has started regarding the video. However, it is not yet known who captured this on camera. BJP leader Tapas Mitra said, “Ghiyasuddin is a Trinamool leader. He is a land mafia. It is natural to get this kind of money from him. We have seen Anubrata, Partha Chatterjee. Trinamool is looting Bengal today. We want the ED to investigate without delay, the central government should look into it.”
