SpiceJet Flight: SpiceJet flight SG-121 going from Delhi to Leh had to be brought back to Delhi on Saturday morning due to a technical glitch. There was information about engine problem during the flight, after which the pilot immediately informed the air traffic control.
Full emergency was declared for the flight at around 6:35 am. Keeping safety in mind, the pilot decided to bring the plane back to Delhi airport.
There were 155 people on board the Boeing 737 aircraft.
This aircraft of SpiceJet was Boeing 737. There were a total of 155 passengers and crew members on board. After air return, the aircraft made a safe landing on Runway 28 at around 6:45 am.
Fire brigade and medical team alert at airport
During landing, the fire brigade, ambulance and medical team were kept on alert at the airport. All necessary security arrangements had been made in advance. After landing, all the passengers were evacuated safely. There is no information about any passenger being injured. According to the airline, the plane has been grounded for technical investigation. Other flights are being arranged for the affected passengers.
Air ambulance crashed
Earlier, an air ambulance carrying seven people from Ranchi, Jharkhand to Delhi crashed in a forest area near Simaria in Chatra district on Monday. The official said that the accident occurred after the air ambulance took off from Ranchi airport at around 7.10 pm. Chatra Deputy Commissioner Kirtishree G. Told ‘PTI-Bhasha’, ‘The plane went missing at around 7:30 pm. It crashed in Bariatu Panchayat of Simaria.
Anant Sinha, CEO of Devkamal Hospital, Ranchi, said that the air ambulance was arranged by a patient. He said, “Sanjay Kumar (41), a resident of Chandwa in Latehar district, was brought to the hospital on February 16 with 65 percent burns. He was being treated in the hospital.
