AIMIM leader Waris Pathan once again reiterated his point and said that I had said earlier also and I still say that a woman wearing hijab will one day become the Prime Minister of the country. Waris Pathan said that whether we stay or not, one day our children will definitely see that the PM of the country becomes a woman wearing hijab.
Pathan said that we do all our talking under the Constitution. Our leader Asaduddin Owaisi talks about development, that is why the public has given us a lot of love in the municipal elections. He said that except AIMIM, no party raised the issue of development in the corporation elections. I will not comment on any party.
What did Waris Pathan say?
Referring to the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation elections in Mumbai (January 16), Waris said that AIMIM’s graph is showing remarkable progress. This is the result of the hard work of our party president Asaduddin Owaisi and all our leaders. We ran a tireless campaign throughout Maharashtra. Besides, leaders from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Hyderabad and other areas also contributed. People voted for us and made many candidates win.
Waris Pathan said that we have performed well in Solapur and Mumbai and this is the love of the people. People have faith in our leader that he talks about development and the Constitution, that is why we have got so much love in Maharashtra.
What did you say on Nitesh Rane’s statement?
On the statement regarding hijab, he said that government minister Nitish Rane was seen saying during the elections that ‘I love Mahadev’ will become the saffron-clad mayor. When journalists asked us, we too, while staying within the ambit of the Constitution, said that a woman wearing hijab can also become PM and Mayor of Mumbai. Minister Nitesh Rane talks unconstitutional, but I talk within the ambit of the Constitution. It is not written anywhere in the Constitution of this country that a Muslim cannot become Prime Minister, Mayor, Governor or President. Muslims have held these positions in India before also.
