AAP fielded 20 candidates in Assam
A few days ago, AAP had released its first list, which contained names of 14 candidates. Now with this second list the total number of candidates of the party has increased to 20. Assembly elections in Assam are to be held in April 2026 and AAP has announced to contest the elections alone. The party says that it will seek votes among the people of Assam on the issues of clean politics, good governance and development. After this list, the discussion has intensified in the politics of Assam that on how many seats will AAP be able to present a strong challenge this time.
After the release of this list, there has been a stir in the politics of Assam. Both BJP and Congress are now seeing AAP as a serious challenge. Fielding an AAP candidate especially on a high-profile seat like Dispur can become a matter of concern for the BJP. The party has said that more lists will be released soon. There are a total of 126 assembly seats in Assam and AAP is trying to increase its presence.
