Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has approved the names of Congress candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections from Telangana. The party has made two leaders candidates for this. Senior Congress leader and well-known Supreme Court lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi has been made the Rajya Sabha candidate. Along with him, V. Narendra Reddy has also been declared the Congress candidate for Rajya Sabha elections from Telangana.
The importance of Rajya Sabha elections is also greater because the victory of the candidates usually depends on the number of parties in the assembly. At present, there is a Congress government in Telangana, hence the victory of Congress candidates on these seats is considered almost certain. This election is considered very important for Congress to increase its numbers in Rajya Sabha.
