President Draupadi Murmu will take a ride in the Indian Navy’s submarine on Sunday, 28th December. President Murmu will go to Karwar. The President also took a ride on the Navy’s first indigenous aircraft carrier last year. Apart from this, in October 2025, the President also flew in the Air Force fighter jet Rafale.
According to the report of Deccan Chronicle, the Kalvari class submarine is a special submarine which can dodge even the enemy’s radar. Apart from this, this submarine is also adept in monitoring the area and spying. For this, special advanced acoustic silencing technology has been used in it, due to which it does not make any sound while moving in water. If there is any movement from the enemy, it can attack in a dangerous manner.
This submarine can stay underwater for 50 days
This submarine includes anti-torpedo counter measure system, 6 533 mm torpedo tubes, the ability to launch 18 SUT torpedoes or SM.39 Exocet anti-ship missiles and the ability to lay 30 sea mines. Let us tell you that this submarine can stay underwater for 50 days and can go to a depth of 350 feet. 8 military officers and 35 sailors can be deployed in it. INS Kalwari, Khanderi, Karanj, Vela, Vagir are also Kalwari class submarines.

Talking about its speed, this submarine can travel at a speed of 20 km per hour on the water surface and 37 km per hour underwater. It also has an attack and search periscope, which is equipped with infrared, low light level cameras and laser range finder and helps in finding targets on the sea surface.
Kalvari is an indigenously built submarine. It has been constructed by Mumbai-based Mazagon Docks Limited. Let us tell you that Mazgaon Docks Limited is a shipyard owned by the Defense Ministry. Kalvari has been designed by DCNS in collaboration with Mazagon Docks Limited.
