There is not much time left for the election bugle to sound in West Bengal, before this the Chief Minister of the state Mamata Banerjee has made serious allegations of lapse in her security during an interview given to ABP. He said, in the last few years, several intrusion attempts were made at his Kalighat residence, including incidents of armed men allegedly entering the premises.
He claimed that infiltration attempts were made at least three to four times. Told that once a person entered with an iron rod and the second time a person entered with a gun. Mamta Banerjee further said, ‘Whenever such incidents happen, it is said that the person is mentally unstable, till now no appropriate action has been taken in this regard.’
Accused of tampering with cameras
Giving the example of a recent incident, the West Bengal CM said that the CCTV cameras installed on Kalighat Road were tampered with about 6 months ago. He also claimed that a particular political party, which often creates trouble for him, had sent people to switch off the cameras. He said, local people intervened and caught the people tampering with the CCTV cameras. He denied having knowledge of any further action taken by the police in this matter and hinted at negligence on the part of the police.
‘I am not worried about myself..’
During the interview, she also responded to the concerns expressed about her safety and said that she never gives importance to her safety. He never used a bulletproof car. At present she travels in a party car instead of a government car. He handed over his bulletproof car to former Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharya. Mamta said, I am not worried about myself, I am worried about others.
