The name of the Prime Minister’s Office has been changed to Seva Teerth. On Friday (February 13, 2026), Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a new office with hi-tech office and smart grid. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also address a public meeting at Seva Teerth at around 6 pm.
Seva Teerth will have the Prime Minister’s Office, National Security Council Secretariat and Cabinet Secretariat, which were earlier located at different places. Apart from this, Dutta Bhawan-1 and Dutta Bhawan-2 are also to be inaugurated, in which many major ministries including Finance Ministry, Defense Ministry, Health and Family Welfare Ministry, Corporate Affairs Ministry, Education Ministry, Culture Ministry, Law and Justice Ministry, Information and Broadcasting Ministry, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Ministry, Chemical and Fertilizer Ministry and Tribal Affairs Ministry have been created.
For the first time after independence, the address of the Prime Minister’s Office has changed. Till now these offices and ministries were spread far and wide in the Central Vista area, due to which they faced problems in coordination. Now all 51 ministries have been brought together at one place in the duty buildings, which will reduce rent and maintenance costs. The new buildings are equipped with digital technologies and have infrastructure in line with future needs.
The old buildings were very old and had fallen into disrepair. Due to this spread of major offices, there were problems in functioning. The offices faced coordination problems and lacked modern facilities, leading to high maintenance costs and an unsuitable working environment.
These problems will now be relieved for administrative work inside the new building complex equipped with modern and future-ready facilities. Both Duty 1 and Duty 2 have digitally integrated offices, well-organized public interaction areas and centralized reception facilities. These facilities will promote collaboration, efficiency, smooth operations, better citizen participation and employee welfare.
Designed as per 4-star GRIHA standards, these complexes feature modern power systems, water conservation measures, waste management solutions and high-performance building structures. These facilities will increase operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact to a great extent. The building complexes also include comprehensive security systems such as smart access control systems, monitoring networks and advanced emergency response infrastructure, which will ensure a safe and accessible environment for officials and visitors.
Seva Teerth is built in about 2.26 lakh square feet (about 5 acres), the total cost of which is Rs 1189 crore. Seva Teerth is located in Executive Enclave on Dara Shikoh Road in New Delhi. The Seva Tirtha complex consists of three buildings – Seva Tirtha-1, Seva Tirtha-2 and Seva Tirtha-3. Seva Teerth-1 houses the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). Seva Tirth-2 houses the Cabinet Secretariat and Seva Tirth-3 houses the National Security Council Secretariat and the office of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
