Government oil company Indian Oil Corporation has increased the price of premium petrol XP-95 by Rs 2 per liter. The company said, ‘In the last 20 days, crude oil prices have increased from $71 to $156 per barrel. Despite this, the prices of petrol and diesel have not been increased in India. The company says that fuel supply will continue without interruption across the country.

Indian Oil Corporation Limited shared a post on social media platform X on Friday (March 20, 2026). In the post, the company said that amid the rise in global crude oil prices, it has become more important than ever to maintain price stability in the domestic market. Despite rising costs in the international market, Indian Oil has not increased the prices of general automotive fuels in India. However, there has been limited change in the prices of premium petrol XP-95, which has marginal impact on overall consumption.

The company said that the prices of regular petrol and diesel used by the common people have been kept stable, which is providing relief to the people. Amid the changing global situation, the company’s focus is primarily on three key aspects – regular supply, responsible pricing and a reliable service. This is the reason that despite international pressure, people are experiencing stability in oil prices in the domestic market.
Apart from IOCL, which oil companies increased the prices?
Apart from IOCL, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has increased the price of Speed, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) by Rs 2.09 per liter of its Power Premium petrol. Before the increase in the prices of premium petrol, the price was around Rs 111.68 per liter, which has now increased to around Rs 113.77 per liter.
