Recently there has been a partnership between Google and Apple regarding AI. Under this, Apple will use Google’s Gemini AI model for its devices and Siri. After this, many iPhone users had raised concerns about privacy, resolving which Google has said that the user’s data will not be shifted to its system. Let us tell you that this partnership has been going on between the two companies for many years.
User privacy will not be affected
In the joint statement of both the companies, it has been said that as far as possible, Apple will process user requests on-device only. If cloud compute is required for any complex task, then that request will be routed through Apple’s private cloud compute server, which will not affect the company’s privacy architecture. This means that even after this partnership, the privacy of iPhone users will be maintained as before.
Apple will use Google’s AI models
Apple, which is lagging behind in the AI race, will now build its foundation models on Google’s Gemini AI model and cloud infrastructure. Besides, the new version of Siri will also be built on Google’s AI model. Apple has been working on Siri for a long time, but it has not been able to upgrade it yet. Now with the help of Google model, Siri will be upgraded and launched this year.
Apple Intelligence features will run on Gemini
Apple said that it has chosen Google’s AI technology after considering several options. Apple found that Gemini could provide the most capable foundation for its upcoming AI projects. This means that now the features of Apple Intelligence will be built on Google’s model. However, they will continue to run on-device through Apple’s private cloud compute framework. Under the partnership, Google will support Apple’s AI workloads, but Apple will have complete control over the integration of these models in the software.
