Once again a major incident has happened at the rally of Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay. A person allegedly died of a heart attack on Friday (February 13, 2026) during the rally of TVK Chief Vijay held in Salem, Tamil Nadu.
Salem police officials told news agency ANI that a 37-year-old man from Maharashtra died today, Friday (February 13, 2026), allegedly due to a heart attack during a political program organized in Salem, Tamil Nadu. The deceased has been identified as Suraj, a native of Maharashtra.
Doctors declared him dead on reaching the hospital – Police
Police officials further said that the deceased Suraj lived in Sevvapettai area of ​​Salem and used to work in silver related work there. He was married and was survived by his wife and a child. He had gone to attend the public meeting organized by TVK for party officials as a spectator, but during the program in Salem he suddenly fell unconscious. After this he was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment, but on reaching the hospital the doctors declared him dead.
He said that doctors have declared heart attack as the primary cause of death of deceased Suraj. However, the local police is investigating further in this matter.
A few months ago, there was a stampede at Vijay’s rally in Karur.
It is noteworthy that a few months before this incident in Salem, Tamil Nadu, there was a stampede during the rally of Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay organized in Karur district of the state. At least 40 people were killed in that incident and more than 60 people were also injured.
At present, after the order of the Supreme Court, the Central Investigation Agency (CBI) is conducting a thorough investigation in the Karur stampede case. At the same time, TVK Chief Vijay has also appeared before the CBI twice for questioning regarding this matter.
