India defeated Pakistan by 61 runs in its third match and entered the next round of the tournament. India reached Super 8 after defeating Pakistan
India on Sunday i.e. 15th February in Colombo’s R. By defeating Pakistan in the Group ‘A’ match at Premadasa Stadium, they have easily made their place in the Super 8 of T20 World Cup 2026. There will be eight teams in Super 8, which will be divided into two groups, each group will have four teams. With the third consecutive win, India has confirmed its place in Group 1, while there is still one league match left against Netherlands.
Status of Group 1 of Super 8 of T20 World Cup 2026
Group 1 of Super 8 of T20 World Cup 2026 will include West Indies, South Africa and Australia/Zimbabwe. West Indies and South Africa have won all their three matches so far and have made it to the next round, while the fourth team in this group is yet to be decided. The groups were pre-decided by the ICC, that is, whether the team ranks first or second in the table, it will go to the pre-decided group. Both Australia and Zimbabwe are in Group ‘B’ and are in the race to qualify, but after Australia’s defeat to Sri Lanka, it now seems impossible for Australia to go to the next round. Australia has won one match and lost two, while Zimbabwe has won both the matches so far.
