Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor got married in a private ceremony at their Mumbai home on 14 April 2022. For her big day, Alia ditched the traditional red saree and opted for a pastel colored embroidered organza saree, which was perfect for her dreamy wedding. The designer of this look was Sabsayachi Mukherjee.
Now Alia Bhatt has revealed about the conversation she had with the famous designer regarding her wedding outfit. In an interview given to Vogue, Alia admitted that she is a complete saree girl and this is her style and choice.
Alia told why she wore organza saree in her wedding
Alia shared, ‘I have said this again and again that I feel most comfortable in saree. When I did my first Zoom call with Sabyasachi, he asked me, ‘What do you want to wear?’ And I said, ‘I am just sure that I want to be comfortable and wear a saree.’
When Sabyasachi asked about the color of her wedding saree, Alia replied that she wanted something in white and gold. Aliya remembered. She said, ‘Okay, let’s make it chai-dipped white, and we’ll make it into an organza saree because it’s so simple and looks fabulous, you don’t need to do much.’
Recalling her special day, Alia told that Sabyasachi also customized the saree for her and Ranbir on the basis of very personal feelings. Alia told the magazine, ‘Our sari had a long train, and Sabyasachi personalized it for my wedding day. Also, it had a quote on it which read ‘Mrs Hipster’, which is an inside story between me and my husband.
The actress also revealed that her stunning uncut diamond jewelery set was also from Sabyasachi’s collection. Alia said, ‘I wanted a big neckpiece, big earrings and maang tikka.’ Alia complemented her fairy-tale saree with soft-glam makeup. Her soft, wavy and loose hair along with blushed cheeks, nude lips and mascara applied lashes made her bridal look perfect.
