Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi rejected the ongoing speculations about the health of the country’s new supreme leader and said that there is no problem in his health. This statement has come amid the news spreading after the statement of a senior American official earlier this week.
Speaking in an interview with MS Now on Saturday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has no problems.
What did the American official say
US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said on Friday that Iran’s new supreme leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei is injured and his face is probably disfigured. He said this a day after Khamenei issued a written statement vowing to continue the war. Hegseth said on Friday, ‘We know that the new supreme leader is injured. They issued a statement yesterday, which was really weak. There was no sound or video in it. This was a written statement.
Questions raised regarding Khamenei’s health
Pete Hegseth raised the question and said that Iran has many cameras and voice recorders, then what is the need for a written statement? I think you know why. His father has died and he is scared. He is injured and he is running. This is a big problem for them. After all, who is in control? Maybe even Iran may not know about this.
Hegseth also criticized the Iranian leader’s message, saying he called for unity. Obviously, killing thousands of protesters is a symbol of their unity. Hegseth said that the Iranian leadership considers America and Israel united against them. He said the only two things the IRGC and the Iranian regime see on the side of the plane are the American flag and the Star of David. He called it the worst nightmare of an evil regime.
