According to the US State Department, about 32 thousand Americans have returned to their country from the Middle East amid the ongoing war with Iran. According to the department, in recent days about two dozen charter flights were sent by it to bring back American citizens. According to an update from the department on Sunday (8 March), a total of 32 thousand American citizens have returned to their country since February 28.

People want to leave the Middle East

The department also said that more than half of the American citizens who sought help to leave the countries of the Middle East later rejected the transportation options provided by the US government and preferred to remain in the country or make some alternative travel plan. Instructions to American citizens to leave the Middle East

This decision of the Trump administration was taken in view of the situation created after the air strikes on Tehran by US-Israel.

Mora Namdar, Assistant Secretary for Consular Affairs of the State Department, said, American citizens should immediately leave Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, West Bank, Gaza, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Yemen.
