How does an analog watch tell time?
In analog watches, time is shown through hands with hour, minute and sometimes second hands. Traditional mechanical analog watches run on a spring and gear system. There may be a difference of a few seconds every day due to temperature, shock or daily use.
Whereas, analog watches with quartz technology work with the help of battery and quartz crystal. When powered by the battery, the quartz vibrates at a constant speed, making the time more stable and accurate.

In a digital clock, time is shown directly in numbers in the form of hours, minutes and seconds. Most digital watches also use quartz technology. The only difference is that the time is displayed electronically on an LCD or LED screen.
Digital watches also have additional features like alarm, stopwatch, timer and sometimes automatic time update which prove to be useful in everyday life.
Real accuracy in what?
The accuracy of time does not depend on whether the clock is analog or digital, but depends on what technology is installed inside it. Both analog and digital clocks based on quartz usually show a difference of only a few seconds per month.
Mechanical analog watches are slightly less accurate than quartz and may need to be adjusted from time to time. At the same time, some modern digital clocks sync themselves with the official time using GPS or radio signals, making them highly accurate.
Which one to choose so as not to be late?
If you need absolutely accurate time, a quartz or GPS based digital watch may be a better choice. However, quartz analog watches prove to be equally reliable for everyday use. Ultimately the choice depends on your preference, style and comfort. If you choose a watch with the right technology, then the worry of being late for office or college can be reduced to a great extent.
