December 19 was a special day for the Indian box office. The biggest Hollywood sci-fi action adventure film ‘Avatar Fire and Ash’ was released and as soon as it came, it started creating a stir at the box office. On the other hand, ‘Dhurandhar’ was ruling the minds of the audience for the last 15 days.
In such a situation, the clash between the two became worth watching. On one side is James Cameron’s Hollywood film and on the other side is Aditya Dhar’s Bollywood film which changed the trend of Indian cinema. It was decided between the two in the initial hours that today cinema lovers are going to enjoy watching the figures.
‘Avatar Fire and Ash’ heavy in initial hours
According to the data available on Saknilk, till 2 pm, ‘Avatar Fire and Ash’ collected Rs 3.33 crore. So ‘Dhurandhar’ had earned Rs 2.98 crore till now. This trend continued at the box office for the next few hours, but then suddenly everything changed.
‘Dhurandhar’ turned the tables
- By the evening, the earnings of ‘Dhurandhar’ increased and it happened that it went ahead of ‘Avatar Fire and Ash’. Till the time of writing the story, ‘Avatar 3’ has earned only Rs. 19.95 crores whereas ‘Dhurandhar’ has earned Rs. 22.50 crores and is going to reach Rs. 500 crores very soon. - This data related to today’s earnings of ‘Dhurandhar’ is also special for the film because on the 15th day of its release, the film has left behind ‘Avatar 3’, which was released in many Indian languages and English, on its opening day itself, with the help of only Hindi speaking audience.
- However, it is important to note here that even though ‘Avatar Fire and Ash’ may have lagged behind ‘Dhurandhar’ on the opening day, the film has overtaken the top 10 Hollywood films released in India this year and has taken the number one spot.
