Another move of Mohammad Yunus, Sheikh Mujib Ur Rahman Hall of Dhaka University named after Osman Hadi

There is an atmosphere of tension in Bangladesh after the death of student leader Sharif Usman Hadi. Till now Hadi’s killers have not been arrested. Meanwhile, the actual name of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall in Dhaka University has been changed to ‘Osman Hadi Hall’. The nameplate outside the hall has been removed and a nameplate in Hadi’s name has been installed there.

According to local media, when Hadi was shot on December 12, several students were seen painting a graffiti mural (wall art) of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. This wall art was specially installed on the main building of this hall.

According to a report in Bangladeshi newspaper The Dhaka Tribune, Dhaka University Central Students Union (DUCSU) Cultural Affairs Secretary Musaddiq Ibn Ali Mohammad had said that the nameplate of the hall will be removed with the help of a crane at around 9:30 pm on Saturday night. According to Bangladeshi media, after observing the situation, it was found that the work of erasing the real name of the hall had started at around 9:45 pm. Later, at around 11:15 pm, efforts were started to paint over the graffiti mural of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Mohammad Yunus assured his supporters

In this regard, when asked whether the Hall Council had taken official permission to remove the nameplate and the painting on the wall, Hall Council Vice President Muslimur Rahman told the media, “The students had demanded its removal. Therefore, we are removing it based on the students’ decision.” Meanwhile, Chief Advisor Mohammad Yunus has promised to maintain and carry forward the ideals of the slain fundamentalist leader. Yunus has assured supporters that Hadi’s vision will continue even after his death. He will fulfill Hadi’s dream.

The killers have not been arrested yet

Let us tell you that the killers of Hadi have not been arrested yet, there is a lot of anger among his supporters regarding this. Hadi’s supporters and Iqbal Forum have given a 24-hour ultimatum to Yunus’ interim government. He has said that if Hadi’s killers are not arrested by Sunday evening, a large number of people will gather and protest.
