On February 25, Samsung will launch its flagship Galaxy S26 series. For the first time, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, the top-end variant of this series, is going to get a privacy display. When the user enables this feature, the people sitting around him will see the screen completely dark and they will not be able to know what is happening on the screen. There are reports that Apple will also use this technology in its devices.
Apple will take technology, but will not find it in iPhone
According to media reports, Apple can use this Samsung technology in its MacBooks. However, this will have to wait a bit and the first MacBook model with privacy display is expected to be launched in 2028. It is being told that Apple will use it in Pro series MacBook and it will be sold as Privacy Display First. Earlier it was reported that Samsung has started mass production of OLED panels for Apple’s M6 MacBook Pro. Now only Samsung can add privacy upgrades to it.
How will this technology work in Galaxy S26 Ultra?
Samsung will use Flex Magic Pixel OLED panel for privacy display in Galaxy S26 Ultra. In this, with the help of AI, the direction of light will be controlled at the pixel level, due to which the viewing angle will become narrow. With this, only the user will be able to see the content playing on the screen. Another special thing about this is that it will not affect the quality of the display. This means that people who used to rely on tempered glass for privacy till now will now get rid of this hassle. It is being told that this feature can also be context-aware. That is, as soon as the user is on the banking app or any log-in page, it will be enabled, due to which people standing nearby will not be able to see the screen.
