Blessing Muzarbani IPL 2026: On Friday, Kolkata Knight Riders included Blessing Muzarabani in their squad. This dreaded bowler from Zimbabwe is coming with amazing performance in the T20 World Cup 2026. According to some media reports, as soon as he got the IPL contract, Muzarabani blocked the deal for Pakistan Super League (PSL). Muzarabani was to play for Islamabad United in PSL.
A few weeks ago, on the instructions of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), KKR had released Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman. Now Muzarabani has joined the Kolkata team as a foreign bowler. The 6 feet 8 inches tall Blessing Muzarabani has speed as well as good bounce, due to which he took a total of 13 wickets in the 2026 T20 World Cup.
Blessing Muzarabani has become the second bowler who has hit the Pakistan Super League as soon as he got the IPL contract. Last season, South African cricketer Corbin Bosch left Peshawar Zalmi after getting the IPL deal. As a result, Bosch was banned from the PSL for one season. Blessing Muzarabani may also get similar punishment. On the other hand, after being released from KKR, Bangladeshi bowler Rahman had joined PSL team Lahore Qalandars.
Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders have also suffered a big blow as fast bowler Harshit Rana has been ruled out of the entire season due to injury. He could not even play in the T20 World Cup 2026.
If we look at Blessing Muzarabani’s career, till now he has played 89 T20 matches for Zimbabwe at the international level, in which he has taken 106 wickets. He is the third highest wicket taker for Zimbabwe in T20 cricket.
