Asaduddin Owaisi Statement: ‘This is not Pakistan nor a…’, Owaisi responded to the statement of Assam Chief Minister Himanta

The stir in the country’s politics has intensified due to the recent statement of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi, while addressing a public meeting in Nagpur, Maharashtra, launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Sarma and accused him of not understanding the basic spirit of the Constitution.

Owaisi said that Himanta Biswa Sarma has definitely taken oath on the Constitution of India, but he has completely failed to understand its soul and basic ideology. He taunted and said that the tube light is on in the Chief Minister’s mind, that is why he makes such divisive statements.

India is not a country of any one community

The AIMIM chief stressed that nowhere in the Indian Constitution is it written that India is a country of only one community. Comparing it with the Constitution of Pakistan, he said that there the President and Prime Minister can only be from a particular community, but the Constitution of India gives equal opportunities to every citizen.

Owaisi said, ‘India’s Constitution was made by Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, who was more educated and far-sighted than Himanta Biswa Sarma. This Constitution makes this country home to people of all religions, ideas and beliefs.

Owaisi’s emphasis on the beauty of the Constitution

Owaisi said that India’s biggest strength is its pluralism. This country not only belongs to those who have faith, but also to those who do not believe in God. He alleged that some people in power are deliberately trying to weaken the basic spirit of the Constitution. Questioning the mentality of Chief Minister Sarma, he said that such thinking works to divide the country instead of uniting it.

Hijab wearing daughter can also become Prime Minister

Earlier, referring to the statement given in Solapur, Owaisi had said that his dream is that one day a hijab-wearing daughter becomes the Prime Minister of India. He again reiterated that the Indian Constitution gives every citizen the right to become Prime Minister, Chief Minister or Mayor, irrespective of his religion or dress. After this statement, Himanta Biswa Sarma had said that the Prime Minister of India will always be a Hindu.
