The conflict between Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand and the fair administration has increased in the Magh Mela, which started from January 3 in Prayagraj. From politicians to sages and saints are also giving their reaction on the matter. Now the Sant Samaj of Ayodhya has stood in support of Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand and they say that CM Yogi should conduct an impartial investigation in the matter.
Acharya Amit Das Maharaj of Siddha Peeth Hanumangarhi said, ‘No, this was absolutely wrong. An impartial administration should not have treated a saint like this. He was no ordinary saint; He was Jagadguru Shankaracharya. Whatever the administration did to him was completely wrong. An attempt was made to defame the Chief Minister and the Uttar Pradesh government on the basis of administration officials and some fabricated stories.
He further said, ‘It is very important to take action against those who have wronged the Batuk-Brahmins by holding their shikha. In our Sanatan Dharma, the crest of Brahmins is a heritage. That heritage has been seized and insulted. Chief Minister Yogi should investigate the matter impartially and take action against the culprits.
Deveshcharya Maharaj of Siddha Peeth Hanumangarhi located in Ayodhya Dham said, ‘Magh Mela is the supreme festival of the followers of Sanatan Dharma. Magh Mela is graced by saints, Shankaracharyas, Mahamandaleshwars and Kalpavasis. It is extremely condemnable and unfortunate to behave like this with the same saints, Brahmins and Kalpavasis. We believe this will be considered a dark day. You must have seen that the crest of a Brahmin is the biggest symbol of his faith. It represents his complete spiritual identity. The Honorable Chief Minister should take the matter seriously and take action against the culprits involved in the case.
He further said that even the fair administration and the government do not have the right to ask for proof of Shankaracharya being Shankaracharya. Whatever is happening to him is being done as part of a conspiracy to defame him and this is also tarnishing the image of the government.
Acharya Narayan Mishra of Mahant Paramahansa Samadhi Sthal of Ayodhya Dham said, ‘All religious leaders have the right to take a holy bath during the Magh Mela, and everyone should be allowed to take a bath. I believe that CM Yogi’s government provided all facilities to the saints and Shankaracharya there, but some people present in the Magh Mela have tried to defame the government. CM Yogi has a high place for all the saints in his mind, and he respects all of them, but some people are conspiring in the Magh Mela.
