After the recent Banswara violence in Kamareddy district of Telangana, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi took a tough stand on Friday and talked to the local Superintendent of Police (SP). Demanded immediate registration of FIR and strict investigation.
This incident came to light at a time when communal tension is continuously increasing in the state. In the Banswara incident, an accused was accused of being beaten in police custody when he was with the police.
AIMIM Chief Owaisi raised questions
Owaisi raised the question that how did such a huge crowd suddenly gather within a few hours? He claimed that the videos available testify that the mob targeted small shopkeepers and hawkers of the minority community. The situation is such that even the police had to become active for rescue.
The statement expressed deep concern over the fact that even when the accused was with the police, he was beaten up. He has instructed the party’s District General Secretary Saeed Khan to prepare a complete report of the damage caused to Muslim shops. AIMIM has clearly demanded from the government that those whose property was damaged should be compensated from the government treasury. The party has also started relief work to help the victims.

Meanwhile, the issue of demolition of Masjid-e-Maulana in Sadashivpet is also heated. Owaisi has asked Caravan MLA Kausar Mohiuddin and District President Sheikh Ghaus to intervene in the matter. Owner Mohammad Kaleem says that he had purchased this land two years ago from a person Raju and he was also in possession of it.
He had also dug a borewell there, but as soon as he put up the shed, the revenue officials demolished it citing it as ‘inam land’. Owaisi raised the question that the occupation was going on for the last two years, then where was the administration? The sudden awakening of the administration despite being continuously harassed by the opponents is questionable. This matter has now become the center of conflict between administrative action and communal harmony.
