Police teams are doing intensive checking of bus stations, railway stations, hotels and lodges so that suspicious activities can be controlled. Security arrangements are being continuously reviewed through video conferencing with senior officials.
Special advice from Hyderabad Police
It is often seen that while going out of the house, people keep the keys under the pot, in the shoe rack or near the window. Police have warned that criminals are aware of these common locations. Apart from this, giving keys to neighbors can also be risky because anyone can commit crimes by making a duplicate key.
Main instructions given for safety
- Valuables: Keep cash and jewelery safe in a bank locker instead of leaving them at home.
- Avoid social media: Do not share your travel information or check-in updates on social media, this gives thieves accurate information about when your home is vacant.
- Inform the police: It would be a wise step to inform the local police station while closing the house and leaving.
- Emergency Help: Dial 100 immediately if you see any suspicious person or activity.
Police assured the public
Hyderabad Police has assured the public that their safety is the priority of the police. However, along with the efforts of the police, the awareness of the citizens is also equally important. If you remain alert and follow the safety standards given by the police, you and your family can enjoy Sankranti without any worries.
