The television industry mourns the loss of acclaimed actor Rituraj Singh, renowned for his portrayal of Yashpal in the popular series Anupamaa, who has succumbed to a cardiac arrest at the age of 59. The news was confirmed by close friend and fellow actor Amit Behl.
Rituraj Singh, who had recently been hospitalized due to a pancreatic ailment, breathed his last on Monday night. According to Amit Behl, “He had been hospitalised due to some stomach issues and was discharged a few days ago. He passed away around 12.30 am at his home due to a cardiac arrest.”
Tributes poured in from the entertainment industry, expressing shock and grief over Rituraj’s sudden demise. Actors like Arshad Warsi and Hansal Mehta remembered him as a talented actor and a warm-hearted individual.
Arshad Warsi shared his sorrow on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “I am so saddened to know that Ritu Raj passed away. We lived in the same building, he was a part of my first film as a producer. Lost a friend and a great actor… will miss you brother…”
Hansal Mehta reminisced about his friendship with Rituraj, saying, “Rituraj!!!! Can’t believe this! I directed him briefly in a daily soap called K Street Pali Hill but in the process we became good friends. Been a while since we hung out but I have such fond memories. Untapped actor and a warm human. Gone suddenly and too early.”
Rituraj Singh’s versatile career spanned across television and films, with notable contributions in shows like Banegi Apni Baat, Jyoti, and Laado 2. He also made appearances in films such as Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Yaariyan 2.
